My parents are my friends

Once I started Y10, I felt the need for myself to be independent and autonomous. I am so fortunate to have understandable parents. Both my Mom and Dad have encouraged and supported me to be independent. They treated me as their true friend and this helped me to break the classical wall and I felt that I have got true friends at home as well.

Being supportive when needed

At times, I was lacking self-discipline and couldn’t complete my revision as planned due to the time spent on video games. But my Dad understood the challenge and helped me to come out of it and put me back on track

Mobile – Friend or Enemy

I love my mobile so much and felt like it’s a true support when in need. However, there are many times, mobile is a real killer of time, during your revision or when you are working against a fixed time window. I managed to overcome the mobile addiction by handing over the mobile to my parents.

Screen time agreement

I have mutually agreed with my parents on the screen time. This helped me to balance my social life and my studies.

Revision with the help of parents

For subjects like Geography or Spanish, I often told my parents what I learnt. Geography is a subject based on knowing data from news and events around the world so it’s always interesting to share what I learn with them.

This helped me to remember them even better and I found that these are the facts that I remembered the best throughout my whole GCSE content because I used to talk about it.
