   Farming also affects the atmosphere. For example, farm animals like cows release methane, a greenhouse gas, and machines used in farming give off carbon dioxide. These gases contribute to climate change and global warming. This can lead to problems like desertification and acid rain, which can harm ecosystems even further and reduce biodiversity.
