  1. Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection that spreads through the exchange of bodily fluids during unprotected sex. It can also pass from mother to baby during childbirth. Using condoms can help reduce the spread, and abstaining from sex prevents infection completely. Other ways to reduce cases include screening people for STIs, contact tracing partners of infected people, and educating people about safe sex. Infections can also be treated with antibiotics.
From the data, the number of gonorrhoea cases in males is higher than in females. Since 2008, cases in males have increased, especially after 2010. Female cases have also gone up since 2010, but not as quickly. The rate of increase is higher in men than in women.
