  1. Use a pipette to measure the alkali and put it into a conical flask.

    Add a few drops of indicator to the flask.

    Place the flask on a white tile to see the colour change clearly.

    Fill the burette with acid and record the starting volume.

    Slowly add acid to the flask while swirling it gently.

    Stop when the indicator changes colour, then record the burette volume used.
