I placed a glass block on a piece of paper and drew around it with a pencil.
I used a ray box to shine a single ray of light through one side of the glass block.
I marked the point where the ray entered the block and where it emerged on the other side.
I removed the block and joined the points with a ruler to show the path of the ray through the block.
I drew a normal line at the point where the ray entered the block (at 90° to the surface).
Using a protractor, I measured the angle of incidence (the angle between the incident ray and the normal).
I also measured the angle of refraction (the angle between the refracted ray and the normal).
I repeated the experiment, changing the angle of incidence each time by 10°, from 10° up to 70°.
I used the ray box for each new angle and measured the corresponding angle of refraction.
