  1. If a plant doesn’t have enough chlorophyll, it can’t do much photosynthesis, so it makes less glucose.
    That means:
    Less energy is released in respiration for growth
    Less glucose to make proteins, amino acids, and cellulose needed for growing
    So overall, the plant grows less.
